Our Service: What to Expect

» How we do it

When you arrive at Optopia for your eye examination, you will be greeted by our optical assistant.

The will take you to our preliminary testing room where our qualified orthoptist will take notes on your health and eye history, discuss if you know of any existing eye conditions, or if your family has a history of eye vision problems and then carry out various optical measurements, dependent to nature of your consultation.

Then it's on to see Kerin, our optometrist. Kerin will review the results and carry out a detailed eye examination, testing not only your vision, but also the health of your eye.

As part of the eye test, Kerin will use a microscope and digital retinal camera to take photographs inside your eye. These allow Kerin to spot even the tiniest suspicious changes in your eyes - and avoid the need for inconvenient dilating drops.

If necessary, Kerin will carry out further tests using more specific equipment.

When your examination is complete, the optical assistant will be delighted to help you to choose new frames from our extensive collection, or to introduce you to the wonderful world of contact lenses.
